Drivers License – Nevada only requires out of state license holders to take
an eye exam to secure a valid Nevada driver’s license. You must present your
Social Security card at the time of your application for a license. We suggest
going on a Wednesday, early in the morning as the one-day of the week to apply
for your license/registration. Expect to wait a few hours, the number of people
moving here is incredible.
Auto Registration - This is important that you know how expensive it is to
have your car registered in Nevada.
Nevada has a different approach to the registration of motor vehicles. All
vehicles are registered with a fee charged based on the actual book value of
the car. For example, expect to pay in the range of $500/$600 the first year
for a registration of a newly purchased auto (2002). Each year after, a declining
scale is used based on that year’s book value of the car you wish to re-register.
